A policeman and an accused were killed when some unknown armed men opened firing at their vehicle near the court of additional session judge in Karak on Saturday. According to reports, police was bringing accused Aqal Daraz in the court of additional session judge in Takht-e-Nusrati, when armed men opened indiscriminate firing at the vehicle.

One policeman, Bismillah Khan and accused Aqal Daraz were killed and another person was injured in the firing. The attackers escaped from the scene after killing the policeman and accused. The police started search operation for arrest of the killers. Meanwhile, in a separate incident, at least five persons were injured in gas cylinder blast in Peshawar on Saturday. The blast occurred at a home in Civil Quarter area of Peshawar, in which five persons including a woman were injured. The injured were rushed to the hospital.
